Champions of Stone Skimming



David Gee and Tessa Pirie are winners of the men’s and women’s competitions at the 14th World Stone Skimming Championships held September 27th on Easdale Island. The Scotsman reports that David’s wining stone skimmed 54 metres, Tessa’s 34 metres. There were 316 competitors from all around the world, including competitors from Canada and New Zealand.

Easdale Island, population 70, is known as the Roof of the World due to its history as one of the Slate Islands that produced tiles for roofs.
