Snow Globes: banned from carryon

When listening to news about the bombing attempt on the flight to Detroit Christmas Day, I heard that snowglobes had been banned from carryon. I googled and found this article in the New York Times. The U.S. Transportation Security Administration’s rules state: “Snow globes, regardless of size of amount of liquid inside, even with documentation, are prohibited in your carry-on.” [How do you document a snow globe?]

Dull men like snowglobes. We give them as Chritmas gifts. We like to get them as Christmas gifts. But they are fragile, safer to bring home from Christmas at mom’s in our carryon instead of checked luggage.
